Mac McQuown receives Sustainability Icon Award

Mac McQuown, owner and creator of the Stone Edge Farm Estate Vineyard and Winery MicroGrid, recently received the World Sustainable Development Forum (WSDF) Sustainability Icon Award.

The award honors “a very select person who has made a tremendous contribution toward sustainability and protecting our planet,” according to Dr. Ash Pachauri, WSDF secretary and treasurer (see video).

Originally, the annual award was to be presented on March 5 at the Forum in Durango, Mexico, by Dr. P.K. Pachauri, WSDF president. Affectionately known as “Patchy,” he was founder and chairman of The Energy Research Institute of India (TERI), former chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and founder of both Protect Our Planet (POP) and WSDF.

Sadly, Dr. Pachauri died earlier this year. His son acknowledges Mac’s achievement in this video interview.
